CITIZEN Promaster BN0166-01L Features
Inspired by the beautiful oceans that unite the world, the watches of Citizen’s UNITE with BLUE series join the colours of the seven seas on one 100% recycled polycarbonate dial. This example, which comes as part of the dive-ready Promaster collection, marks a unique take on the classic sports style. The robust silver-tone stainless steel exterior ensures up to 200 meters of water resistance, making use of a 4 o’clock screw-down crown placement and an easy-grip bezel executed in a two-tone design is reminiscent of a sparkling emerald green ocean. A strap made from biomass-based polyurethane, which includes plant-based materials, secures the timepiece to the wrist. The highly-legible dial is brought to life through pigment-free ink that uses light – the same light that powers the Eco-Drive technology within – to reflect off the surface of the ink microstructures and create an array of aquatic shades. Caliber E168. Limited to 7,000 pieces worldwide.
This style is part of the UNITE with BLUE collection, which highlights Citizen’s commitment to sustainability. Sustainably powered by the brand’s proprietary Eco-Drive technology, the timepiece features a structural color dial, inspired by the oceans that unite the world.

About CITIZEN Promaster BN0166-01L
History of Citizen
The company was founded in 1930 by Japanese and Swiss investors. It took over Shokosha Watch Research Institute (founded in 1918) and some facilities of the assembly plant opened in Yokohama in 1912 by the Swiss watchmaker Rodolphe Schmid.
The brand Citizen was first registered in Switzerland by Schmid in 1918 for watches he sold in Japan. The development of this brand was supported in the 1920s by Count Gotō Shinpei with his hope that watches could become affordable to the general public. The growth of Citizen until World War II relied on technology transfer from Switzerland.
