CITIZEN Eco-Drive AW1816-89X Features
With a 42 mm case made of brushed stainless steel, this watch offers a presence on the wrist that is both robust and elegant. The thickness of 12 mm nestles ideally against the wrist, while the silver color of the case and bracelet lends a subtle shimmer that suits any outfit. The design is accentuated by a vibrant yellow dial, which acts like a drop of sunshine on the wrist, presenting time with a fresh, life-affirming energy.
This timepiece is not only a feast for the eyes but also impresses with its functionality. Water-resistant up to 100 meters, it is equipped for everyday life and beyond. The heart of the watch is the solar-powered quartz movement, which uses Eco-Drive technology to turn light into energy – a triumph of engineering that makes battery changes obsolete. The mineral glass protects the dial from the vicissitudes of the day, while the luminous hands and markers make reading time possible in the dark.
The stainless steel bracelet, secured with a reliable folding clasp, promises comfort and durability. Additional features such as the date complete the practical aspects of this watch, making it a trustworthy companion for the modern man who values style, efficiency, and sustainability.

CITIZEN Eco-Drive AW1816-89X History
History of Citizen
The company was founded in 1930 by Japanese and Swiss investors. It took over Shokosha Watch Research Institute (founded in 1918) and some facilities of the assembly plant opened in Yokohama in 1912 by the Swiss watchmaker Rodolphe Schmid.
The brand Citizen was first registered in Switzerland by Schmid in 1918 for watches he sold in Japan. The development of this brand was supported in the 1920s by Count Gotō Shinpei with his hope that watches could become affordable to the general public. The growth of Citizen until World War II relied on technology transfer from Switzerland.
