CITIZEN Promaster BJ8056-01E Features
Superior functionality in a fierce new watch – since Promaster was introduced in 1954, we awakened something, and now it has returned: meet the Citizen Godzilla X Promaster Dive 70th Anniversary Limited Edition. This special Promaster Godzilla collaboration model is designed to celebrate the “King of the Monsters” and marks three and half decades since the introduction of the first Promaster in a new timepiece that is a powerful, dive-ready companion with plenty of titan charm. A robust 48.2mm gray stainless steel case in a rugged Promaster Dive silhouette anchors the style, with a laser-applied camouflage pattern accenting the look, hiding Godzilla in plain sight while recalling the beast’s scaly skin, and the creature feature continues on the case back etched with Godzilla’s footprint. This tough exterior has earned the watch the nickname “Ecozilla” from fans, a combination of Eco-Drive and Godzilla. A water resistance of up to 300M ensures professional-grade diving capabilities, while a high legibility black dial accented with the unique camouflage pattern and bold luminous hands and markers ensures ready-for-action wear. Paired with a durable and environmentally friendly black polyurethane strap that was created with biomass-derived materials, this iconic collector’s watch is sustainably powered by any light with Eco-Drive technology that never needs a battery. About CITIZEN Promaster BJ8056-01E
History of Citizen
The company was founded in 1930 by Japanese and Swiss investors. It took over Shokosha Watch Research Institute (founded in 1918) and some facilities of the assembly plant opened in Yokohama in 1912 by the Swiss watchmaker Rodolphe Schmid.
The brand Citizen was first registered in Switzerland by Schmid in 1918 for watches he sold in Japan. The development of this brand was supported in the 1920s by Count Gotō Shinpei with his hope that watches could become affordable to the general public. The growth of Citizen until World War II relied on technology transfer from Switzerland.
