The Classic Semi Skeleton with natural colors and elegant designs for everyday use, featuring a window affording a partial view of the movement, and their designs evoke a level of sophistication unique to mechanical watches. It shares the same classically curved dial featuring stylish embossed index markers, delicate roman numerals, and spade shaped hands. And an elegant profile viewed from its side by gently domed mineral glass crystals, accented by rhinestone set in the crown. About ORIENT STAR RE-AT0202E
A Star is Born
ORIENT STAR debuted in 1951. The name expresses the aim of creating a timepiece that outshines all others in the universe of mechanical watches. The ORIENT STAR brand continues to live up to its name and captivate watch enthusiasts around the world with genuine mechanical watch excellence. The ORIENT STAR story began with the founding of Tama Keiki Co., Ltd in 1950, rechristened the Orient Watch Co., Ltd. only one year later. After collaborating with Seiko Epson Corporation for over 20 years, the two companies officially merged their business and expertise in 2017. Today Epson’s advanced precision part processing and finishing technologies combine with ORIENT STAR’s passion for authentic quality and craftsmanship to launch a new era of mechanical watches.
History of Orient
Orient Watch is a Japanese watch brand owned by Seiko Epson. Established as an independent company in 1950, it became a functional subsidiary of Epson in 2009 before being fully integrated into the company in 2017.
Until it was absorbed into Epson, the Orient Watch Company had primarily marketed mechanical watches (self-winding & hand-winding), but also produced quartz, light-powered (solar) and radio-controlled models. Outside of the main business, the company produced some moving parts and electronic components that were then assembled into Seiko Epson’s electronic devices.
Currently, Akita Epson Corporation (formally Akita Orient Precision Instruments Co., Ltd.), a group company of Epson, manufactures all of the Orient movements in-house in Yuzawa, Akita, Japan.
