KING SEIKO SPB461 Features
King Seiko was created in the 1960s – a famous decade for fashion in Japan, as much as the rest of the world and this trio of watches is inspired by the Japanese Sixties clean cut blazer-and-chinos trend. In Tokyo’s Ginza, people met on Miyuki Street in oxford shirts, cropped khaki trousers, and penny loafers – a style influenced by 1950s American preppy ivy-league collegiate outfits.
Under a box-sapphire crystal glass is a burgundy colored dial, with sharp Dauphine-style hands. Three-dimensionally cut batons, a sharp angular case style, and the finishing ensures maximum light reflection. With an interchangeable bracelet design, this compact 36mm piece allows for easier bracelet and strap customizability.
Powered by an in-house automatic 6R51 movement, this timepiece is accurate to +25/-15 seconds per day, with a three day power reserve.

KSK Caliber 6R51 Model
The “KSK” series, which has been in existence since the collection’s revival in 2022, is now available in a simple three-hand design with a 36.1mm case, the smallest of the current King Seiko models. The case has mirror polishing and hairline finishing to create a compact yet sharp design with prominent ridges, a characteristic of the “KSK” series.
Ivy style originated on the East Coast of the United States in the 1950s and developed uniquely in Japan in the 1960s, when King Seiko was born. The dial is burgundy, a color favored for the rugby shirts and swing tops that accentuate the Ivy look in a unique way. The gold seconds hand adds a traditional accent, while the hour hand, minute hand, and indexes feature Lumibrite with a patinated appearance that harmonizes with the dial.
The metal bracelet features a simple double-lever system, allowing it to be easily attached and removed without the use of tools. Combining the bracelet with leather straps (sold separately) greatly expands the range of coordination.
Running on the mechanical Caliber 6R51, the watch has a power reserve of three days. Fully wound, the watch can be removed on a Friday and worn the following Monday without any need for winding.
History of Seiko
The company was founded in 1881, when Kintarō Hattori opened a watch and jewerly shop called “K. Hattori” (服部時計店 Hattori Tokeiten) in the Ginza area of Tokyo, Japan. Eleven years later, in 1892, he began to produce clocks under the name Seikosha, meaning roughly “House of Exquisite Workmanship”.
The first watches produced under the Seiko brand appeared in 1924. In 1969, Seiko introduced the Astron, the world’s first production quartz watch, it cost the same as a medium-sized car. Seiko later went on to introduce the first quartz chronograph.
