Original model
This solar chronograph watches inherits the iconic designs and styles of the Speedtimer series from the 1960s-70s.
All watches are powered by Seiko’s solar Caliber V192, which has a 60-minute chronograph, a 24-hour sub-dial, and features a power reserve indicator that is displayed at the touch of a button.
In 1969, Seiko released the world’s first automatic chronograph equipped with both vertical clutch and column wheel, known as the Seiko Speedtimer.
Under a curved sapphire crystal glass is a vivid yellow dial, characteristic of the 6139 original, the second hand, and subdial minute hand at 6 o’clock are in a bright red. With 12 spots of Lumibrite across each of the wide vintage-style indices, this Speedtimer is designed for legibility in dark conditions. In the style of the original, this piece has a blue and red aluminum bezel with a tachymeter feature and a chronometer second scale on the inside dial ring. The bracelet is tapered from the lugs all the way to the buckle.
This modern version features a V192 solar chronograph calibre which charges in both natural and artificial light. Accurate to +/- 15 seconds per month, it has a power reserve of 6 months at full charge.

About Seiko Prospex SSC947
History of Seiko
The company was founded in 1881, when Kintarō Hattori opened a watch and jewerly shop called “K. Hattori” (服部時計店 Hattori Tokeiten) in the Ginza area of Tokyo, Japan. Eleven years later, in 1892, he began to produce clocks under the name Seikosha, meaning roughly “House of Exquisite Workmanship”.
The first watches produced under the Seiko brand appeared in 1924. In 1969, Seiko introduced the Astron, the world’s first production quartz watch, it cost the same as a medium-sized car. Seiko later went on to introduce the first quartz chronograph.
